Begun in 1984, Utne Reader magazine collects and reprints articles on politics, culture, and the environment from journals, newsletters, weeklies, zines, and independent media sources. The Utne's writers and editors contribute books, film, and music reviews and original articles which tend to focus on emerging cultural trends, as well.
