Calling All Fiends

CALLING ALL FIENDS, a collection of frightening, damaging and disturbing music conjured up for Halloween, is now available at OddioOverplay.com.

Halloween is meant to be scary, right? Year after year we dust off the old, silly, novelty records. While they are fun, they not at all frightening. Oddio Overplay put the challenge to musical artists the world over to create Halloween music that is "frightening, damaging and disturbing." No "Monster Mash," instead creepy soundtracks to a fiendish Halloween. They succeeded with CALLING ALL FIENDS, two hours of original music! Some of these pieces will creep you right out of your skin.

featuring:  8m2stereo, [Not] Daniel Johnston (with Daniel Johnston), Brian and Harlan, Bureaucratica, Caühaüs, Click Click Click, Grant, Jeffrey Letterly, Lee Rosevere, Lenkei, Limonadiac, Mark Harvey, Mr. Fab and His Bag of Heads, Nigel Simmons, Pharmacom, Rain Station, Roymond, Shirley and Spinoza, Splogman, Stealing Orchestra, Sublinear, The DVDs, The Threshold People, The Waiters, Ton Rückert, Urban Inbreed, Weirdomusic, X-Tokyo-River-God

In 2010, this album was added to the Free Music Archive, so you can download with one click or embed a player like this.

  4. Happy Halloween to you too Katya.
I haven't had time to listen to it yet. But I will tomorrow. In the middle of the day. When the sun is shining.

  5. Oh man! - I've been dying to hear this Katya! But you know?.. the download speed to the archive file from here in Urumqi, PRC is gosh darn abysmal for some reason. Been trying for a whole 24 hours so far...and now it looks like another 19 hours will do it.
Even this blog (and all of blogspot for that matter) appears to be inaccessible the last days. Had to go through anonymouse.org to get to this site.
Is this release so horrifyingly good that it's a treat to PRC security? damn!...I can wait 19 more hours if i must...and 22 minutes.. ..rapping my yellow claws on the desk here....garlic wreath at the ready.

  7. Yo k, you cupcake. I just saw your photo in the background section. You look like a little fiend up to mischief. I know that wicked smile. It means, "let's do something crazy". Then you dance on a table, jump into a river, start a group sing or someone ends up with a car packed with people heading off on a secret mission.

Nice mix. Burning it to play in the car. That Grant song seems out of place until you hear yourself singing along about being invisible, being air that can be anywhere. Knowing it is about a serial killer, hell yeah that song is creepy after all.

  10. Hey Folks! Thanks so much for the kind words. It was a pleasure to meet new artists and to work with old pals. It always blows my mind when people will come together for fun projects like this. I am so pleased with the results of all the hard work.

Congrats, musical and visual artists! This morning we will top 1000 downloads directly from the Internet Archive page. We are close to 500,000 unique visitors to the release page on OddioOverplay.com with who knows how many downloads directly from that page. The press has been very cool, too.

By the way, MR. OTIS FODDER put together the Ghouls with Attitude in 2004. Boing Boing credited me in 2005. Nope.

Here's wishing you all a Happy Halloween!
